The Tobacco Room
In the early years of the 19th century, Masseria Rifisa was used as a tobacco factory and the Tobacco Hall represented its main area. The Tobacco Hall is a step backwards, retracing the steps of the women who made history in Salento, the "tabacchine."
In addition to the exclusive AgriResort, there is also the old Azienda Agraria owned by Greco’s family at Masseria Rifisa.
It is an area extending for about 500 hectares, surrounded by centuries-old olive trees and an abundant livestock.
It still keeps the ancient architecture of the factory with a single room, divided into two aisles topped with characteristic star vaults. Inside you can admire the old machinery used for tobacco production which symbolizes the work of tireless women, pillars of society.
Today, a lit room, with stained glass windows overlooking the garden, directly welcomes our guests and gives them the beauty of a single space without boundaries between interior and surrounding space. With its manufacturing style, but influenced by surrounding nature, it is a unique feature of Masseria Rifisa and welcomes guests in an evocative panorama.
